Clint Capela got away with one of the worst travels we’ve ever seen

NBA fans love to complain about officiating and nitpick about non-called travels. But sometimes, they really do have a point.

Wednesday’s game between the Rockets and Wizards would be one of those times because, my word, Clint Capela got away with an all-time terrible travel.

The non-called travel violation in question happened during the fourth quarter after Capela stole the ball from Bradley Beal. Capela took off on a fast break, but about five feet shy of the three-point line, he picked up his dribble and just kept going for the one-handed dunk.

Capela has some long strides, sure, but not long enough to make up that much ground on two steps.

And now, a closer look:

Capela took FOUR pronounced steps before going up for that dunk. The Wizards honestly couldn’t believe that the refs missed that one and neither could the broadcast.

Capela got away with a Corey Brewer-level travel.

And the no-call made somewhat of a difference as the Rockets won, 159-158, in regulation (!!!).
