'Clincial' Eddie Nketiah performance draws praise from ex-England U21s boss

Former England under-21 boss Stuart Pearce has waded into the debate over Leeds United starlet Eddie Nketiah after Marcelo Bielsa's comments last month.

Nketiah made a strong start to life at Leeds on loan from Arsenal but has since found it difficult to nail down a regular spot in Bielsa's side.

There have been reports that Bristol City are eyeing up a January transfer window loan move for the 20-year-old, but Bielsa last month insisted that the striker is a 'complete player'.

Fast-forward to this evening and Nketiah showed what he's all about with a fantastic double before the break which put England under-21s 4-0 up at half-time against Austria.

Nketiah scored with a wonderful first-time shot from close range for his first before adding a header for his second this evening.

Pearce believes that Bielsa was not far off the mark with his 'complete player' comments, with the former under-21s manager reflecting on Nketiah's brace at Stadium MK.

"When a manager makes a statement that he's a complete player, I think we have seen a snapshot of that in the first half," Pearce said during the commentary on BT Sport.

"(His goals) have added to the checklist from Bielsa about the complete player comment. He has got the goal to go with the movement he has showed earlier in the game. It's an incredible goal and England have been so clinical with their finishing."
