Climate strike demonstration at Scottish Parliament on Valentine's Day

A climate strike demonstration is set to take place outside the Scottish Parliament on Valentine's Day.

The Youth Climate Strike group, who organised a major march through the city last year, will be gathering at Holyrood on February 14.

They are urging people to "declare their love for the planet". Similar climate strikes are taking place around the world on the same day, inspired by the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

The demonstration is due to begin at 11am.

Friends of the Earth and Extinction Rebellion are also involved in the protest.

Organisers say: "This year the Earth is our Valentine.

"We are calling on you to declare your love for our planet on Friday the 14th of February, declare your love and compassion for the people who do not have a voice and already suffer from the impacts of the climate and ecological break down."
