Climate protestors disrupt event celebrating Trump’s UK state visit

  • Climate protesters from Fossil Free London interrupted a gala dinner for Republicans in Windsor, celebrating the US president's second state visit to the UK.
  • Demonstrators shouted slogans and displayed banners reading 'oily money kills' before being physically removed by guests from the dining hall.
  • Greg Swenson, chairman of Republicans Overseas UK, called for a 'Maga revolution' in Britain and defiantly repeated the 'drill, baby, drill' phrase in response to the protest.
  • Robin Wells, director of Fossil Free London, warned that almost half the world's population could lose their lives due to climate impacts, urging an end to drilling.
  • Thames Valley Police confirmed two individuals were removed by event organisers, with no arrests made, as further protests against the US president's visit are planned.
