Cliftonville Football Club launch sixth annual foodbank appeal

Cliftonville have launched their sixth annual foodbank collection.

The Solitude club are once again supporting the North Belfast Advice Partnership in their Christmas drive to support families in the community. 

The NBAP has reported a "huge increase" in the number of families needing support this Christmas due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With significant job losses across all sectors, the charity says it has placed a massive strain on families being able to feed themselves.

“We are delighted to once again partner with Sinead and her team at the NBAP," said Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor.

"They work tirelessly to help all the community and they deserve not only our, but everyone’s support, particularly at what has been and remains a very challenging time.

“Everyone at our club is committed to helping support them in whatever way we can, and we ask our supporters to support their 2020 Christmas Campaign."

Cliftonville will be holding a primary collection day on Saturday, November 28 at their home game against Portadown.

Limited fans will once attend be permitted to attend the game under current NI Executive Covid regulations, and it is hoped that they will contribute to what has become one of the biggest days for the North Belfast Advice Partnership's annual appeal.

Additional drop-off times over the course of that weekend will also be arranged by the club to enable as many people as possible can support the collection.

With limited numbers being able to attend Solitude, Cliftonville are also supporting the NBAP 'Sponsor a child' for Christmas campaign.

The campaign is among to sponsor as many children as possible with presents for Christmas and donations to this can be made via the club HERE
