Cliftonville fans react on Twitter to news that Ryan Catney is leaving the club

Ryan Catney will leave Cliftonville at the end of the season.

It will bring the curtain down on a hugely successful 12-year spell at the North Belfast Reds, one that saw the Reds captain win two league titles, four League Cups and three County Antrim Shields.

Catney will be forever remembered at Solitude as being one of the catalysts behind the club's historic back-to-back title success in 2013 and '14.

The 32-year-old remains determined to continue his career, but the tributes came pouring in following the news that his time at Cliftonville is about to draw to a close.

Reds chairman Gerard Lawlor praised the outgoing midfield general, labelling Catney as a club legend .
