Clifton resident warns car owners to be vigilant following spate of break ins

A Clifton resident has warned car owners to be vigilant following a spate of break ins in the area.

A crate of energy drinks and a bag were stolen from the car of Harry Fairclough, who left his car parked on Grange Road on Wednesday night (April 3).

The 23-year-old later spoke to other Clifton residents who suffered similar break ins around the same period.

"I came back to my car on the Friday (April 5) to find my front window had been smashed and my car had been broken into," Mr Fairclough said.

"They had taken a nice bag and a crate of energy drinks for some reason.

"I asked some builders working at the house next door and they said it was broken into on the Thursday before I returned."

Mr Fairclough said he had been left shocked by the incident and has spoken to other residents since who have had their vehicles broken into.

"I was quite surprised - nothing like it has happened before," he said.

"I started asking around and a lot of my neighbours got broken into around the same time."

In a Twitter post published yesterday (April 8), Mr Fairclough said: "My car was broken into last Thursday night.

"I've now spoken to three other people who confirm they have had there cars broken into in the same area of Clifton Village recently."

Mr Fairclough has said the break-in has been reported to Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
