Clifton cafe named one of best in England is closing

For almost three years Bristolians have been treated to some of the tastiest cakes in the country being served at a Clifton cafe.

The desserts and caffeinated drinks are so good at The Epiphany, it was even crowned among the top 50 coffee shops in the UK on a travel website.

But there's bad news for caffeine and dessert fans, as bosses have just announced they will be closing the venue in less than a month.

The owners said they are hoping to start 'new ventures' but are yet to release any information about whether they will be keeping their culinary skills in Bristol.

On a post uploaded to their Instagram page, a spokesperson wrote: "Hello friends. We would like to announce the closure of The Epiphany @ RWA.

"The two of us are so grateful for all the support and kindness we have received over the last 2-and-a-half (!) years.

"We have learnt and achieved so much during this time and built an amazing team of hilarious and talented hospo legends.

"Through hard work, perseverance and a love of everything we do, we are able to leave happy and immensely proud of everything the business has achieved.

"We are closing for no other reason than simply feeling that this is the time to move on and jump whole heartedly into new ventures."

The cafe will officially shut on December 1 but before that bosses will be throwing a huge goodbye party on November 27.

This year, the cafe was voted among the best of the best when it appeared on Big & Travel's  top 50 coffee shops.

Coming in at number 40 the entry read: “The fuss-free, contemporary menu at The Epiphany focuses on high-quality, locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients, treated with love and care. You’ll struggle to find a better food and coffee offering in the country.”
