Clifton academy reveals plan for expansion

An expansion is proposed for an academy in Clifton, plans have shown.

The improvements would involve extensions made to the Glapton Academy, in Glapton Lane, to provide a staff room, library and office.

The plans, submitted on the academy's behalf to Nottingham City Council, would also link corridors between buildings.

The application has been submitted by the trustees of the academy - with Dan Page, of CP Associates, acting as the planning agent.

A decision is yet to be made by the authority on the proposals.

Nottinghamshire Live has attempted to contact the academy for comment.

It is part of the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, and, following an Ofsted inspection in 2016, the academy's leadership team were praised for maintaining the "good quality of education" since a previous inspection.

In its most recent inspection report, leaders were highlighted for ensuring "staff provide pupils with a bright, attractive and well-organised environment in which to learn and play".
