It will be mistletoe and whine for some this Christmas as Cliff Richard will no longer be posing topless in his annual calendar.
The legendary crooner, 80, is about to release his 42nd official calendar – which have in total sold more than 1.5 million copies over the years – but has delivered the shock news that his pecs will no longer be getting an airing.
“I suspect I have done my final topless photo” he said.
He revealed the news in his new book, The Dreamer, and added: “I suspect it’s time to gracefully exit the Chippendales market.”
The past few years have also been abs-light in Cliff’s annual organiser, though he had been showing off well into his 70s – and was even challenged to prove that the photos were really of him.
“When I did my last one,” he said. “ Chris Evans said on the radio that it couldn’t be my body – they must have superimposed my head onto somebody else! That made me laugh.”
