Cliff Curtis and the Rock's epic haka in new trailer for Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw

The trailer for the upcoming new Fast and Furious instalment Hobbs and Shaw has dropped and it's gone full Pasifika.

The spinoff from the multi-million dollar franchise follows The Rock's Agent Hobbs and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw as they team up to take on a shared enemy.

But when things go off the rails, our heroes are forced to go off-grid - heading to Hobbs' "home" in Samoa, where we meet his family, which includes New Zealand's own stars Cliff Curtis and John Tui.

Hobbs tells his mother: "I'm sorry to bring trouble here Mama, but I need my brothers. This family is going to war."

We then see Curtis welcoming Hobbs home and and the "family" performing an epic haka before running into battle with "old school" weapons.

It's suspected Kiwi boxing superstar Joseph Parker might also have a role in the film, after he posted photos from Koloa, Hawaii with Cliff Curtis and John Tui, as well as The Rock and director David Leitch.
