Are you smarter than a ten-year-old?
This new maths quiz can determine you how good you are with numbers and to what age your skills match up with.
Virtual maths tutoring service, Maths-Wizz, created the tool to pose the question: “Are you better at maths than a school pupil?”
Participants will prove their skills across five rounds and 25 questions chosen by teaching experts.
The questions were chosen to cover key topics taught to children at different stages of education from written numbers to geometry.
At the end, the widget will determine your “maths age” — a determination of how your answers ranked according to the level expected for children.
A maths age of 8.5, for example, means your overall level is that expected of an eight-and-a-half year old.
A forewarning, if you’re feeling confident: the questions are trickier than you would expect. A score in the low teens is nothing to scoff at.
If maths were not your strong suit or your scores are not where you hoped they would be, the quiz will show where you went wrong so determined participants can improve and give it another go.
