Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson signs with Rich Paul and Klutch Sports

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson has decided to sign with Rich Paul and Klutch Sports according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic. Clarkson will join a Klutch Sports roster that now includes over 25 current NBA players headlined by LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Draymond Green. Jordan was previously represented by Omar Wilkes of Octagon Basketball who also serves as an agent for Cam Reddish, Trae Young, Solomon Hill and others.

Clarkson recently watched Klutch clients like Davis facilitate a trade to his preferred team in the Los Angeles Lakers. He also saw rookies Darius Garland and Darius Bazley each get selected in the first round of the NBA Draft, along with Klutch Sports guard Eric Bledsoe recently signing a $70 million extension with Bucks before deciding it was time for a change in his own representation.

After scoring 14.3 points per game during three-and-a-half seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Clarkson has averaged 15.8 on 45% shooting over his last 109 regular-season games with the Cavaliers. Some in Cleveland felt that Clarkson should’ve garnered some consideration for Sixth Man of the Year this past season after coming off the bench to average 16.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 81 games.

Next season, Clarkson will be on the final year of a four-year, $50 million contract that will pay him $13.4 million during the 2019-20 campaign. The following summer he will become an unrestricted free agent. Jordan was originally a second-round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Missouri.
