CLEMSON, S.C._No. 5 Clemson held off a rally by No. 3 Louisville on Saturday night, upending the Cardinals 42-36 at Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers (5-0) play at Boston College at 7:30 pm Friday.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson led the way with 306 yards passing and five touchdowns, two of them to receiver Deon Cain.
Clemson led 28-10 at halftime. Louisville scored 26 points in the second half and had a chance to go ahead late. A fourth-down pass from Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson to James Quick was completed just short of a first down.
