Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney doesn’t think Nick Saban will ever retire

“Heck no, he ain’t ever gonna retire. What’s he gonna do? He ain’t gonna sit at the lake or go fishing, and he’ll eventually get tired of playing golf.”

This is what Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney had to say to Chris Low when asked about  Nick Saban and the word retirement in the same sentence.

Clemson and Alabama have dominated the College Football Playoff, alternating national championships the past 4 years.  It seems like the two have developed a newfound respect for one another that is shown on and off the field.

Saban is coming off of a robotic-assisted right hip replacement surgery this late April and hopes that he is at full speed, ready to go come fall.

“I want to get it fixed because, you know, I don’t want to coach for one more year, I want to coach for a lot more years.” said Saban in an interview about getting back on the field.

Saban and Swinney’s rivalry will go down in history as one of the best ever in college football, and will continue for as long as Saban can keep coaching.

Clemson and Alabama showcase the top 2 teams in the country and should provide for many more playoff runs to come.  It looks as if Alabama will be set with Saban for the years to come and that only means more competition for their opponents.
