Clement Lenglet and every player leaving Tottenham today as Harry Winks in transfer wait

June 30 marks a very important date in the football calendar with a number of players leaving clubs following the expiration of their contracts. As is the case at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium every summer, a handful of players will wave goodbye to the football club for the final time.

As tomorrow marks the beginning of July, those who have been let go will be free to sign for a new team and start a new chapter in their careers. Just over two weeks ago, the Lilywhites confirmed their released list as they plan for the future.

The list included three first-team stars, six development squad players and three of the under-18s. Arnaut Danjuma, Clement Lenglet and Lucas Moura were the most notable names on the list as Spurs get their plans in place for the upcoming campaign.

Danjuma and Lenglet exit following the conclusion of their loan spells from Villarreal and Barcelona respectively, although there have been reports that the Frenchman could possibly return on a permanent transfer as Spurs looks to make changes to their backline. Lucas' exit comes following the expiration of his contract in N17.

Another player on course to wave goodbye to the club in the coming hours, albeit someone not included on the original list, is Harry Winks. Tottenham have agreed a £10million transfer deal with Championship side Leicester City for the midfielder and his move will very likely be confirmed over the weekend.

As the academy graduate spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan with Italian side Sampdoria, he cannot technically sign for Leicester until after his deal with the Genoa-based club comes to an end later this evening. Once his Sampdoria loan has officially ended, he will sign on the dotted line with the Foxes.

In terms of the development squad players leaving, Jamie Bowden, Kallum Cesay, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Roshaun Mathurin, Marqes Muir and Romaine Mundle are the players concerned. Mundle has already secured a move for next season after penning a four-year contract with Belgian side Standard Liege.

Tottenham fans may remember Bowden for travelling with the first-team squad on a couple of occasions in the 2018/19 season, including for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final vs Man City where he was seen on the pitch with the rest of the squad following the game after clinching a place in the semi-finals.

Whereas Bowden never got the opportunity to make his first-team debut, Fagan-Walcott was introduced by Jose Mourinho for the final few minutes of Tottenham's Champions League defeat away at RB Leipzig in March 2020. Thomas Bloxham, Brandon Bryan-Waugh and Riley Owen are the under-18s players who depart following the conclusion of their scholarships. Bloxham has penned a two-year professional contract with Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
