Cleland school girl one of the bhoys after appearing in Celtics Christmas advert

A Cleland schoolgirl became one of the bhoys as she rubbed shoulders with her football heroes while featuring in Celtic FC’s Christmas advert.

Budding actress Olivia Collins, 11, successfully auditioned to become part of a children’s choir singing on the club’s charity single; We Three Kings.

She was one of 16 students from the Glasgow-based UKTheatreSchool (UKTS) who featured in the fun-filled Christmas advert.

The video accompanying the single has gone viral with more than a million views on social media.

Sporting the famous green and white hoops, Olivia and her fellow students sing while being conducted by team manager Neil Lennon.

The video for the single was shot at Glasgow’s Mitchell Theatre and is part of Celtic’s annual fundraising initiative which will help local families facing poverty at Christmas.

The appeal will also support a number of initiatives working with refugee families who have come to Scotland, as well as Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Spirit Aid.

Olivia said: “As a Celtic fan having the opportunity to appear alongside some of my sporting heroes is a memory I’ll never forget.”

Her proud dad Jim, added: “This was a wonderful opportunity for Olivia to work professionally on an advert which was both fun and for a great cause”.

UKTS is based in Glasgow’s West Regent Street and has more than 700 children enrolled in evening and weekend classes focused on the performing arts.

The school has its own in-house casting agency which co-ordinated the students’ involvement in Celtic’s charity advert project.

Over the years students have worked alongside big name stars including; David Walliams, Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth, Rihanna, James McAvoy, Peter Mullan, Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry in a series of TV shows, movies and big-brand adverts.

UKTS principal Lizanne Lambie Thomson, said: “This was a great opportunity for Olivia and our other students to be involved and see how a major full-scale music advert is produced.

“This invaluable experience helps them prepare if they want to pursue a career in the performing arts in the future.”
