Tokai University anchor Akihiro Gunji crosses the finish line first to give the team its first title of the Tokyo-Hakone Intercollegiate Ekiden road relay race on Thursday in Tokyo.

Tokai finished the two-day, 10-section, 217.1 kilometer-race with a new meet record at 10 hours 52 minutes 9 seconds. Aoyama Gakuin, which sought its fifth straight Hakone title, finished second at 10:55:50. Toyo, who finished first the previous day, finished third at 10:58:03.
