Cleanup operation ongoing in Bo'ness after Rangers fans paint streets red, white and blue

A major cleanup operation is ongoing in Bo'ness after Rangers fans painted roadside kerbs red, white and blue ahead of yesterday's Old Firm clash.

Many people woke up on Saturday morning to find their street has been decorated in the football teams colours.

Flags were attached to lamp posts and speed limit signs sprayed over with the numbers '55'.

Falkirk Council say they're in Bo'ness today removing paint (UGC)

A cardboard cut out of Gers boss Steven Gerrard was also stuck to the side of a building.

It's had a mixed reaction on social media, with some locals enjoying the theme, but others have hit out at the vandals involved.

On person posted on Facebook saying: "This isn't art, this is vandalism. This is criminal behaviour."

Another said: "It looks so pretty, and even nicer with all this sunshine, Falkirk Council please can it say?"

A third said: "I went to bed in Bo'ness and appear to have woke up in Belfast. How the f**** did that happen?"

A spokesperson for Falkirk Council said: "We received reports over the weekend of items being attached to lighting columns and some kerbstones being painted.

"We have been working on taking these items down and removing the paint. This work is ongoing."
