Cleaning whizz shares quick 5p hack to make glass oven doors shine 'like new'

Cleaning the oven is one of those jobs that's just never appealing, as it's often a time-consuming and strenuous task.

But putting it off for weeks or even months leads to even more unsightly stains plaguing the surface, making your entire kitchen look grubby and uncared for.

It's harder to scrub clean the longer you leave it, so regular cleaning is recommended. But if you just need to get the job done, one woman has recommended a cheap and fast solution.

One woman took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page to share her go-to hack, The Express reports.

The cleaning influencer has inspired millions with her simple cleaning hacks, prompting like-minded fans to come together online and share their own tips - and this woman was no different.

Posting to the group, she wrote: "[My oven door] was looking brown all over but I didn’t expect what I did to work so didn’t originally do a before picture, so here is a during and after photo.

“I used a bit of Tescos own 50p washing up liquid cherry and it came up with zero problems and looks like new.

“I’m actually surprised!! Didn’t even have to use much of it at all either. So the bottle was 50p but I probably used like, 5p worth.

“Plenty of elbow grease of course, but not an insane amount. I could still feel my arms afterwards. Worked wonders.”

The first picture she posted showed her oven covered in dark brown stains, but in the second one it looked good as new.

The post receive over 150 likes and group members were quick to comment their thoughts.

One said: “I'm old-fashioned washing up liquid, bleach and hot water for most cleaning.”

Another commented: “I only ever use hot soapy water to clean all areas of my oven.”

And a third wrote: “Amazing. I often think washing up liquid works wonders for lots of different things and swear by green fairy.

One Mrs Hinch fan claimed that there was an easier way to clean over doors and that’s to use dishwasher tablets.

She said: “Dishwasher tablets are much easier on the arms, just dampen the surface and use the tablet to scrub. Easy. This is great work though.”
