Cleaning fans melt away yellow mattress stains in 'ten minutes' with 95p toiletry item

While it's a common household chore to clean our bed sheets, we often forget about the beloved mattress.

Since we sleep on our mattresses every night, it can often build up with yellow-like stains without us even realising.

Cleaning your bed regularly will help to make it last longer, as well as keep it looking and smelling fresh.

Seeking the best method to clean the pesky stains from their bed, a Mrs Hinch fan turned to the trusty Facebook page Cleaning Tips & Tricks, which boasts more than 1.5 million members.

The anonymous user admitted they were "looking for some help" as they shared a photo of their mattress stains.

In the post, the Mrs Hinch fan wrote: "I tried to clean a couple of stains on my mattress with bicarbonate and have made it so much worse. Is there anything else I could try?

"I really don't want to buy new mattress Thanks in advance," they added.

Since sharing her post online, the Facebook user's post has been inundated with responses - where Mrs Hinch rushed to the comment section to favour a cheap method.

One person wrote: "I'd try shaving foam. The cheap sort."

"Shaving foam," a second added.

A third said: "Shaving foam. I know it sounds weird but it works. Spray on, work in and leave for a while. Then wipe off with a damp cloth."

Lacura Men's Sensitive Shave Foam 250ml can be purchased from popular budget supermarket Aldi for as little as 95p. The handy item costs just 38p per 100ml.

Alternatively, Boots has a budget option that costs just £1 too.

In addition to the handy tip, other social media users rushed to share other useful methods to rid of gruelling yellow stains.

One person suggested: "Elbow grease is brilliant."

"Elbow grease is good or you could buy a cheap little hand-held steamer to clean," another agreed.
