A fashion fan with a knack for top cleaning tips has shared the three rules she swears by,
Her smart advice when it comes to making her clothes last, wear after wear, could well help you save a lot of money in the long-run.
Savvy Shavonne, who regularly shares lifestyle content centred around DIY, organising, and design, urged her TikTok followers to consider the 'three things you should do to make your clothes last longer'.
Naturally, making sure you're not always replacing your clothes will help you save cash in the long run, and Shavonne's top tips could also help you save on energy bills as well.
According to Shavonne, who goes by the username @restyleliving, the first hack should be tried just before popping your clothes into the washing machine and will help ensure the fibres stay strong and durable.
Shavonne advised: "Turn your clothes inside out when you wash them, especially for jeans and clothes with printed designs."
For her second nugget of cleaning wisdom, Shavonne suggested washing your clothes less.
And, in a move that could help with your energy bills, hanging them out to dry when possible rather than opting for the tumble dryer.
According to Shavonne: "Wash your clothes less and hang them to dry. I don't know where we got the idea that you can only wear your clothes once, but on average you can wear your shirts and pants two to four times before needing a wash".

When it came to her third and final tip, Shavonne recommended getting higher quality clothes rather than fast fashion items, adding that thrift stores were a great way to find decent clothes for less.
She continued: "One of the reasons why I thrift is because it makes it much more affordable to choose higher quality brands and fabrics that will last longer than fast fashion."
A number of followers approved of Shavonne's sensible tips, with one admiring person commenting: "My best pieces have been thrift/estate finds! Clothes were so much better 20-plus years ago. Everything new even my 'high end' falls apart so fast."
Another wrote: "I always wear my clothes at least three to four times before washing because they just don’t get dirty."
