Cleaning fan shares 'game changing' hack that leaves windows and mirrors streak free

A cleaning fan has shared a window and mirror wiping hack that they called "an absolute game changer", and many others have been quick to agree.

Many tumble dryers have condensation trays where moisture from clothes is collected.

Whilst most people simply throw this water away when the tray is full, others have come up with unique uses for the water to avoid waste.

These include using it to water outdoor plants, mop the floors, and washing carpets.

One woman found a slightly more unusual use for her tumble dryer water, however — cleaning windows and mirrors.

Sharing the idea on the Cleaning tips and tricks Facebook group, she wrote: "Absolute game changer, I have never had such clean, smear free windows and mirrors before.

"My shower screen looks brand new, so happy I’ve bottled the leftover water as not using my dryer much now I can hang the washing out. Anyone who hasn’t tried this you must, don’t waste money on window sprays, tumble dryer water is the way forward."

Her post quickly attracted the attention of other Facebook users, and before long it had received more than 1,100 comments.

One said: "Tried it today for first time absolutely fantastic my windows and mirrors are gleaming really really impressed so glad I found out about this."

A second revealed: "I use tumble dryer water to clean my high gloss tile kitchen floor. No streaks whatsoever! Best tip ever! It was my mum’s window cleaner that told her about it years ago."

A third shared: "I was sceptical. But omg my glass has never been streak free. But now I'm converted it's amazing."

"I also do this, it’s brilliant for windows, shower screens and mirrors," commented a fourth.

A fifth agreed: "It works amazing! I used it yesterday on all my mirrors and windows! Smells good too!"

A sixth echoed: "It’s amazing. Just tried it on my TVs and mirrors. Give it a go."

"I done my outside windows today using dryer water, worked brilliant," posted a seventh.

An eighth stated: "I did this yesterday. Did all of my conservatory windows and they are pristine clean!"

Others weren't so keen on the idea, with one commenting: "I would love the tumble dryer water but it’s expensive to use with the cost of everything going up!"

Another Facebook users shared their negative experience with tumble dryer water, saying: "Well I tried this and my windows looked terrible".

For those who do not have a tumble dryer and therefore do not have access to the special water, one member of the group suggested: "For anyone without a tumble dryer you can buy distilled water for really cheap."
