Cleaning fan shares 'brilliant' Fairy Liquid laundry hack that leaves clothes looking new

One woman shared a cleaning trick that she claims is "brilliant" at removing stains from clothes, and others have shared similarly positive experiences.

Using Fairy Liquid on clothes is reportedly an effect stain remover, and to test it out the woman put some of the dish soap alongside her white and was "amazed" at the results.

Posting on the Cleaning tips and tricks Facebook group she wrote: "So today i tried fairy liquid hack on my whites....omg it actually works. It's brilliant".

In response to users asking for more details, she elaborated: "Sorry I'm just replying to my post I put on...so I put about half a teaspoon of Fairy Liquid on a flannel...halved the amount of soap powder and put it into the tub, not the draw.

"Turned temp down to 40 degrees to save electric...and oh my word my whites were amazing. My hubby's socks...couldn't believe it."

Since being shared on Tuesday evening, the post has attracted almost 400 likes and nearly 600 comments from fellow cleaning fans giving their thoughts.

One said: "I use fairy on my son's cricket whites..always does the job! I just rub a little onto the marks and then put it in wash as normal. Works on loads of stains."

"Fairy original gets rid of any stain..,rub it in on both sides and wash as normal.. stains all gone even curry and grass," posted a second.

A third commented: "Yes I've known this for years, but it's only Fairy that gives brilliant results as I've tried other brands and they are nowhere near as good- so invest in the best".

"I use it regularly as a stain remover," revealed a fourth.

A fifth stated: "I’ve also started using it. I just squeeze about a teaspoon amount straight onto the washing. No it does not stain!"

"Yes its first thing I reach for if something is going to stain," a sixth shared.

Another echoed: "I put it on my darks n whites brilliant stuff".

Other group members were not convinced by the hack however, and were happy to share their concerns.

One commented: "You DO NOT put it in your machine. Just put a small amount on stain.. then put clothing in wash! I've been doing it for over 15yrs.. works a treat.. my kids now do it with their families".

"You can not put washing up liquid in washer," agreed a second.

A third wrote: "It may be good for stain remover off ur clothes, but not good for your sensitive skin, so deffo will be wearing gloves".
