Cleaners hail 'brilliant' 95p spray that removes mould from home surfaces in minutes

Mould can be tough to combat once it appears in your home - but there’s one spray on the market that does the trick for less than £1 , according to cleaning enthusiasts.

Members of the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips group on Facebook , inspired by the advice of famous home cleaning pro Sophie Hinchcliffe, sparked a discussion on the best method of removing mould after one person complained about stubborn spots on their bathroom tiles. Several people recommended Astonish’s Mould and Mildew Blaster, saying that this product had come to the rescue in their own homes.

Touted as ‘the UK’s number one mould and mildew remover’, the apple-scented spray claims to remove tough stains caused by mould and mildew in a matter of minutes. Using it regularly will not only banish mould but will also help to stop it returning in your home in the future, according to its creators.

The spray can be used on walls, glass, shower curtains, bathroom tiles, sinks, plugholes, grout, uPVC window frames, silicone sealant and concrete. And at a cost of just 95p from the likes of Amazon and Wilko or £1.25 directly from the Astonish website it comes a lot cheaper than many of its competitors, The Mirror reports .

The spray is easy to use without the need for elbow grease - according to the instructions, simply leave it for a few minutes after spraying on before rinsing off or wiping clean with no scrubbing required. On vertical surfaces, it’s advised to use a sponge or cloth to apply the spray in order to avoid run-off.

One person in the Facebook group recommended: "Astonish Mould and Mildew Spray is brilliant. I also use a grouting pen to freshen up the look after it’s been cleaned and dried."

"Astonish Mould and Mildew spray… spray on liberally, leave for a few hours then rinse off wiping with a sponge, brought mine up lovely,” another said.

"Astonish Mould and Mildew is fantastic,” wrote a third. “Get a brush, especially for scrubbing (it more or less looks like an oversized toothbrush), spray the mould remover and scrub with the brush straight away and keep repeating – and it really works, believe me I know."
