Many people avoid cleaning out their entire oven for as long as possible, the odd angles, different surfaces and months or years of built up grease can make it a burden to clean.
Adding onto the long list of why ovens are difficult to clean, many simply don’t know how to in the first place.
It may not be as simple as mopping the floor or doing the dishes, but cleaning an oven does not have to be as in-depth and complicated as it appears.
Housing utilities company Reesoma shared on their TikTok page three easy steps to clean all of the major areas of an oven.
The TikTok began: “When you move out of a rental, the landlord often expects the oven to be completely clean or you could risk losing your deposit.
“So here’s the most effective way to deep clean your oven.”

Starting with arguably the most complicated section: the oven rack which often finds itself covered in residual food bits, grease and oil.
Reesoma recommended rather than trying to clean the oven rack in its original position or trying to scrub everything away, to simply remove it entirely from the oven.
They shared: “Put the oven rack in the dishwasher or if you don’t have one put them in a bowl of hot, soapy water.
Whilst the rack gets washed or soaks, mix two tablespoons of bicarbonate soda with water until it forms a thick paste.
This paste can be used to scrub all over the inside of the oven, and then left to sit for a while.

Finally, Reesoma advised cleaning the doors with hot water and a cleaning product of your choice.
However, they cautioned people must “make sure you use a product that dissolves grease” for this.
Mix the cleaning product and the hot water and using the rough side of a dish sponge, scrub the stains and any grease on the oven door.
Reesoma ended the TikTok saying: “Wipe out the bicarbonate of soda and you’ll be left with a sparkling clean oven.”
