No matter how long you've been cleaning your home, new chores always seem to pop up.
And social media can definitely add to the woes of cleaning enthusiasts, who are made to feel they aren't doing enough.
One woman recently revealed a hidden crumb-filled compartment in her toaster that others had no idea existed. Now, a hidden area of the microwave has been revealed - and without routine cleaning it can become encrusted with grease.
The appliance can often be forgotten about on the cleaning list, as a simple shut of its door hides the food and grease stains that build up with every use. But it turns out that an outer feature also needs regular scrubbing.

One savvy cleaner took to social media to share how the vents located under the microwave can become filthy - and the news has left some people speechless, the Mirror reports.
The woman, known only as KB regularly shares "cleaning motivation" with her followers and uploaded a video with the paired caption: "Did you know that you're supposed to clean the vents under your microwave?"

The cleaning motivator then filmed underneath her built-in microwave, which was located above her cooker, showing two vents that could be removed.
After removing them with a knife she put the grease-soaked vents into the sink, sprayed them with a cleaning spray and scrubbed them down with a brush. She wrote: "They were so gross."

After a few minutes of scrubbing, they looked sparkly clean. She put them back and wrote: "Looks so much better." While you can actually clean the inside with just a lemon and a bowl of water, as the vents are hidden out of sight, it's no wonder they are often forgotten.
People were blown away after finding out about the hidden feature, with one person saying: "... wait, those are removable?" Another said: "People need to stop finding things for us to clean d**n, I struggle with the basic cleaning."

A third commented: "So peeved. Just finding this out. Immediately cleaned mine after seeing this. Thank you."
Some thought it was just part of the cooker extraction fan, but others ensured this was a normal feature on above-stovetop microwaves.
One person explained: "You can tell how many people in the comments have never lived in a place where the microwave is located right above the stove. I clean houses for a living and this is VERY common. And yes, these are called grease traps and they do need to be cleaned because they can get pretty gross."
