A mum has been left "shocked" at how clean her chalet was during a stay at Pontins.
Kirsty Bamping is a self-confessed clean freak who makes sure to bring scrubbing equipment with her when she goes on holiday.
The Manchester woman booked a stay at Southport Pontins on the spur of the moment because of limitations on travel abroad, Liverpool Echo reported.
She wasn't even put off from making the trip when her friends turned down the opportunity to come, due to concerns about hygiene.
Yet when Kirsty arrived she was blown away by the standard of the chalet.
"I asked my friends if they'd come with me and they said 'no way, it's disgusting'," she said.

"I'd read the bad reviews and I was dreading it to be honest.
"'I am a clean freak so I took so many cleaning products with me.
"I couldn't believe the chalet when I saw it. Everything was spotless, the kitchen, everywhere.

"I scrubbed the pans, because I always do that, but they didn't even need it. The bedding was all brand new, too.
"I was so shocked. Not a speck of dust in sight, I even asked for an extra pillow and it came within five minutes.
"It is basic, but that is to be expected for the price. The entertainment was brilliant, I can't knock any of it to be honest. I'd definitely go back."

On a Facebook page set up for visitors of Southport Pontins, opinions are mixed regarding its cleanliness.
One member posted: "We go knowing it’s rough and ready always take all my cleaning stuff. It might seem clean when you walk in but on closer inspection everything is minging!" [sic]
Other posts say accommodation has been clean on arrival.
