Clayton Thorson showed character while redeeming himself in Eagles 24-10 preseason win

Clayton Thorson can truly call himself a Philadelphian now, as the fifth-round draft pick acquitted himself well during extended playing time in the Eagles 24-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thorson came on in relief of Cody Kessler, who has knocked out the game with a concussion and he played with supreme confidence.

Thorson had a quarterback rating of 0.0 a week ago, but on Thursday night, Thorson went 16-26 passing, for 175 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Thorson grinded it out against the Jaguars, didn’t get down on himself and even tossed his first career touchdown to Greg Ward.

Thorson looked like a seasoned pro at times and led the Eagles on a 14-play, 85-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter and then led the team on another 90+ yard drive as well. Thorson went a long way towards cementing his place on the Eagles roster after a disastrous start to his career.
