Claudio Ranieri backs Chelsea star to complete £60m transfer

Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri has backed N'Golo Kante for a move to Inter Milan.

Reports claim Kante could be on the move this summer with former Blues boss Antonio Conte, now at Inter Milan, interested.

According to reports, Chelsea would be open to selling Kante, but only if they can get £60million for their World Cup winner.

That may prove difficult for Inter Milan, but there are other options being suggested, like a loan deal with an obligatory option to buy.

But if he was to rock up at Inter by any means, former Chelsea boss Ranieri would approve.

“He would be an excellent acquisition for the Nerazzurri certainly, but absolutely for the Italian league," he told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"Kanté is a golden boy, a great professional, who always knows how to put passion and enthusiasm at the team’s disposal."

Ranieri continued: “On the field he is always moving, he is generous and good at recovering and distributing the ball.

"He has good qualities, even if he is not a playmaker, but it is very difficult for him to miss a pass because he always plays the role with great attention and concentration.

“It’s true, I once stated that after making a cross he could also run into the box to hit the ball with his head and look for the goal because I wanted to emphasise his athletic strength and his spirit of serving the team.

"He is a world champion, he would further raise the level of our league.”

Kante is under contract at Chelsea until 2023 having penned a new deal in 2018.
