Claudine Keane sends heartfelt birthday message to Robbie Keane as Ireland legend turns 40

Claudine Keane sent a heartfelt birthday message to husband Robbie Keane as Ireland's record scorer turned 40 today.

Model and columnist Claudine described her husband as 'simply the best' as she paid a touching tribute to her partner.

Writing on Instagram, she said: "Happy 40th Birthday  @robbiekeane  time flies when you're having fun, four decades of amazing adventures and the best is yet to come.

"You are an incredible person, selfless determined and humble you love to see everyone happy but today is about you we love you and we’re so grateful to have you in our lives and we’re beyond proud of you.

"40 has never looked so good let’s raise our glass today to Robbie you're simply the best. When everything is back to normal the party will be epic but for now it’s family and appreciation time. We love you  #happybirthdayrobbie."

Keane recently departed his assistant manager role at Middlesbrough and is currently contracted with the FAI, although he is not part of new boss Stephen Kenny's plans.

Kenny told RTE today: "I have huge respect for Robbie Keane, he has been an incredible goalscorer for Ireland and I'm sure he'll have a great career in management. He won't be short of options for sure.

"Ruud Doktor is our technical director, he makes the appointments for all our positions.

"From my point of view, I have my own team with the senior team. We appointed Keith Andrews as assistant who I worked with for 18 months. That is where it is."
