Claudia Winkleman says Strictly's Rose finds it difficult to train in the rain

Strictly Come Dancing star Rose Ayling-Ellis finds rain is a training hurdle as it messes with vibrations in her chest.

The deaf EastEnders actress, 27, and pro-dancer Giovanni Pernice, 31, created one of the BBC One show’s most moving moments when they danced in silence for 10 seconds.

Host Claudia Winkleman, 49, has shared some behind-the-scenes challenges Rose faces to perform.

She said: “Rose is fantastic...she’s properly funny. I hope that comes across. She’s a fabulous dancer. The fact she’s deaf comes way down the list of the extraordinariness of the charm of Rose.

“She finds it difficult to train when it’s really raining as it messes with the vibrations in her chest.”

Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman has spoken of her praise for Rose (BBC)

Claudia, who learned some sign language, told The Big Issue magazine: “The first thing I wanted to learn, although I haven’t had to use it, was, ‘The judges are horrid’.”

Talking also of the show’s first all-male couple, John Whaite, 32, and Johannes Radebe, 34, she added: “Representation is everything.

Am I proud? Absolutely.”
