Second major disruption in June

The outage comes just weeks after a significant global service interruption on June 2, when Claude experienced elevated error rates across its web platform, API services, developer tools and Claude Code. At the time, thousands of users reported being unable to access the service.

Anthropic's status page has recorded multiple incidents involving elevated error rates across various Claude models in recent days, including issues affecting Opus, Haiku and other services.

Anthropic says cause identified, fix underway

While Anthropic has not disclosed the exact reason behind the disruption, the company said it has identified the source of the problem and is working to restore services.

In an update posted on its status page, Anthropic said: "We have identified the cause of the issue affecting Claude.ai and are working on a fix. We will provide an update as soon as possible."

The company has not provided further details on what triggered the outage. The incident marks the second major disruption affecting Claude users this month and has led to widespread complaints from users experiencing access and performance issues.

Users voice frustration online

Social media platforms and community forums have seen a surge in complaints from users reporting that Claude is not responding to prompts or is returning errors. Discussions suggest the disruption is affecting users across multiple countries.

The outage has also affected developers and businesses that rely on Claude's API and coding tools, raising concerns about reliability as AI assistants become increasingly integrated into daily workflows.

Service restoration timeline unclear

Anthropic has not indicated when full service will be restored. Users are being advised to monitor the company's status page for updates as engineers investigate the issue.
