Anthropic seems like it’s on a launch spree of new features. A couple of days ago, it launched a feature that allows you to create and edit files directly inside Claude.ai and its desktop app. Today, the company has introduced memory to the AI assistant.
Starting today, Team and Enterprise users can enable memory so Claude remembers projects, preferences, and workflows, reducing the need to re-explain context and keeping ongoing work organised. It also allows Enterprise admins to choose to disable memory at any time.
Memory is optional and comes with detailed controls to manage what Claude remembers. It allows you to review, edit, or delete memories via a dedicated summary in settings. Besides, in order to prevent sensitive information from being stored, Anthropic has also added Incognito chats, which do not save memory or conversation history. This feature is available to all Claude users, and not just enterprise customers.
How Memory Works at Work?
According to the shared blog post from Anthropic, Claude’s memory is designed for professional environments. It remembers team processes, client requirements, and project details to streamline tasks like sales tracking, product planning, and executive oversight.
The interesting part is that each project has its own memory, so planning a product launch stays separate from client work. These boundaries help teams manage multiple projects without mixing unrelated or confidential details.
Anthropic says it’s taking a cautious rollout, ensuring memory is safe for workplace use before expanding availability. Though if you are interested, you can test the memory by enabling it in settings and asking questions like, “What were we working on last week?”
Incognito Mode for Fresh Conversations

For moments when you need a clean slate, like confidential strategy discussions or brainstorming, the incognito chat allows you to have conversations that bypass memory and history. However, existing memory and retention settings stay intact, to give you more control over what gets stored.
