Classy moment Russell Martin salutes Rangers supporters before kick-off in Greece

Russell Martin made sure to acknowledge Rangers supporters before kick-off in the Champions League clash against Panathinaikos.

The Ibrox boss marched along the touchline ahead of kick-off to salute the supporters who had made the trip to Athens for the second leg of the second qualifying round.

Rangers took a 2-0 lead to Greece to face Panathinaikos and were backed by a healthy travelling support.

Moments before kick-off, Martin made a beeline towards the Rangers support at the Olympic Stadium in Athens.

Footage of the classy moment shows Martin applauding those who made the trip to support his Rangers side before he waved to the fans housed high in the stands.

Around 3,300 supporters were inside the stadium to support the Govan club in the Champions League.

Ahead of the match, Martin called on his side to be relentless in their performance against Panathinaikos.

"It will be courage and intensity all the way," he said on Rangers TV ahead of the second leg.

"Brave enough to take the ball, to run really hard for each other, to want to go and press them, to make it difficult for them.

"And the intensity to be aggressive, to want the ball, to be relentless with their running.

"Everyone has to feel that; the fans, we need to feel that, the players need to feel that and the opposition need to feel that."
