Classic ‘Star Wars’ video game bundles are coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 this year

Regret throwing your Nintendo 64 or PlayStation 2 consoles out because you can’t play old-school Star Wars  video games anymore? No worries, friend. The folks over at Aspyr are bringing several classic Star Wars  games to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 sometime this year.

The Star Wars Jedi Knight Collection and Star Wars Racer and Commando Combo are brand-new physical editions of a few fan-favorite titles. The Jedi Knight Collection contains Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, which many still consider having the best lightsaber fight mechanics in any video game.

Meanwhile, the Racer and Commando Combo has Republic Commando and Racer. The former is a solid squad-based first-person shooter, while the latter is a podracing game modeled after one of the few scenes of The Phantom Menace that was good. For real, you can even use Sebulba’s giant podracer and go like 900 MPH across Tatooine.

Previously, these games were only available digitally on most storefronts, so it’s cool to see a packaged deal. Aspyr did not announce a release date or price for either collection yet, though.

Unfortunately, Xbox fans aren’t getting in on the nostalgic goodness, as the Aspyr can’t publish the collections on Xbox platforms.

Seriously though, play Star Wars Racer. It was the best racing game on the Nintendo 64. Sorry, F-Zero X.
