Classic sport on TV: Rugby, GAA and soccer to watch this week

Fans may be starved of live sporting action but there are some classic matches to tide TV viewers over this week.

Ireland Women's historic 2013 triumph against Italy features on RTE 2 at 9:30pm on Thursday - when they defeated the Italians to complete their first Six Nations Grand Slam.

On Friday evening at 7:30pm, TG4 will show Ireland's 1-1 draw with Holland at the Italia 90 World Cup as part of the channel's World Cup Gold series.

The Story of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is on RTE 2 on Sunday at 4:35pm, followed by another showing of the 2013 Ireland Women's Grand Slam-clinching game.

TG4 will show classic hurling and football games on Sunday afternoon as well. At 2:40pm, GAA fans can relive Armagh and Dublin's classic 2002 All-Ireland semi-final before Galway v Tipperary in the 1988 All-Ireland hurling final takes centre-stage at 4:10pm.

Rugby fans can rewatch full match coverage from all of Ireland's games in their 2018 Six Nations-winning campaign on Virgin Sport tomorrow evening.
