Classic Jurassic Park trio will feature 'all the way through' Jurassic World: Dominion

The core cast from the original Jurassic Park will feature “all the way through” forthcoming sequel Jurassic World: Dominion, it has been revealed.

Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are all set to reprise their characters from the 1993 original, alongside Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

In an interview with Yahoo, Neill was asked whether his character would feature in “a couple of scenes”, as had been speculated, or whether he would assume a “more substantial role.”

“We’re all the way through the film,” he responded, “Jeff [Goldblum], and me, and Laura [Dern]”.

Production on Dominion was abandoned on 13 March as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but is set to resume at Pinewood Studios on 6 July.

Pratt, who plays the lead character Owen Grady in the the Jurassic World films, previously told Variety: ”Man, I can’t tell you anything [about Dominion], but I can tell you it’s going to blow your mind.

“It’s going to be the biggest and best yet. They spared no expense and they’re bringing everybody back.”

In Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, Neill played palaeontologist Dr Alan Grant, while Dern and Goldblum played Dr Ellie Sattler and Dr Ian Malcolm, respectively.

Of course, the reunion won’t include actors whose characters who did not survive the events of the original film – such as Samuel L Jackson or Wayne Knight – or the late Richard Attenborough, who portrayed eccentric park owner John Hammond.

Goldblum appeared in 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but – despite him featuring prominently in one of the film’s trailers – his role was limited to a brief cameo.
