Chrome is being polished and body work inspected in readiness for the return of the North East Classic Car and Motorcycle Show to County Durham this weekend.
Around 400 vintage vehicles will be on display at the show which once again is being staged at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield - and there is still time for late entrants to register to take part in Sunday's event. The hotel grounds are set to provide a perfect setting to show off the spruced-up classics which will be vying for attention and competing for awards.
A wide range of classic cars and motorcycles will be out to catch the eye of judges who will be presenting a number of awards, including Pride of Ownership, Club of the Show and Car of the Show. Anyone who has a vehicle dating to no later than 2007 and who is interested in taking part can register online and by doing so will receive a commemorative plaque and have the chance to join the competition.

A panel of experienced judges will be deciding the winners and Richard Lee, a car show regular, will be overseeing the competition and commentating. The annual show is family-friendly and, besides the parked-up cars for visitors to browse, there will be stalls and food and drink outlets.

Tickets for the May 22 event, which will run from 10am until 4pm, will cost £9 (£4 for children) on the day. Alternately they can be bought in advance from the organiser, Classic Shows, via its site here at a discounted rate of £7.33/£3.20 up until Friday, May 20. Anyone wanting to register a vehicle to take part for £5, or interested in a trading pitch, can email info@classicshows.org for details or call 01484 666 776.
