Class X student arrested for abusing his junior in Haryana's Rewari, sent to Juvenile home

CHANDIGARH: In a shocking incident, a boy studying in class V of a school was allegedly sexually abused by his senior, a student of class X in the school premises in Haryana's Rewari district, on Tuesday.

The incident came to light on Thursday when the kin of the victim got the case registered.

Acting on the complaint of the parents of the victim student, the cops have registered a case under POCSO Act at Rewari Sadar police station of the district.

The accused boy too was taken into custody. As he confessed to have committed the crime, he was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) that sent him to juvenile home in Faridabad.

Notably, the kin of the family alleged that the school management as well as a hostel warden made a foiled attempt to cover up the issue and tried to pacify the victim to not reveal the truth behind the incident to his parents.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim boy comes from a village in Jhajjar and was living in hostel. On Tuesday, the accused took him to rest room on the pretext of asking him to read something where he forced himself on him.

The victim boy though managed to flee himself from him and informed the hostel warden. The warden, it is alleged that tried to mislead the child as well as management.

He cautioned the victim to not to disclose much to the parents.

After the child narrated the horrible tale of being abused, his kin lodged the complaint. The accused too was taken into custody.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect his privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
