"Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, second year students at home will be learning online from tomorrow onwards. A return to school date has yet to be set and you will be notified of this date in due course.

It comes after dozens of students were asked to stay home after a Covid-19 case was confirmed at a secondary school in Co Galway over the weekend.

School officials said that a pupil in Transition Year had contracted coronavirus, and that all students in the year group would be asked to stay home today.
