'Class player, would rather keep the ban' - Chelsea fans split over Wilfried Zaha transfer links

Chelsea are preparing to do business in the January transfer window.

The Blues have had an indifferent start to the season under new boss Frank Lampard, winning one, drawing two and losing one of their four Premier League games so far.

Lampard is getting used to being a top flight boss, and he is also getting used to integrating a number of young players into his first XI.

Chelsea were unable to sign any new players during the summer as a result of a transfer ban handed down by FIFA after breaking regulations over the signing of youth players.

They have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but they are yet to hear the date that appeal will be heard.

football.london were told by CAS in July that: "Hearing dates are not fixed in any particular order. They are set once the procedure is ready to be heard and according to the availability of the parties and arbitrators involved."

But there are suggestions that that two-window ban will be cut to just one and will therefore be lifted in January.

The Mirror have reported this weekend that the Blues have been in contact with a number of top football agents to tell them they are preparing to do business in January, as they remain hopeful of the ban being lifted.

One of the players who has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Wilfried Zaha.

The Crystal Palace talisman was linked with a move away from Selhurst Park in the summer, with Arsenal most interested at the time.

The Eagles wanted £80million for the winger, with Arsenal refusing to meet that asking price, instead breaking their club record in signing Nicolas Pepe for £72million.

Various reports have suggested Chelsea are prepared to meet the £80million asking price in January, with Zaha still keen to move away from south London and fulfil his European ambitions.

But the Chelsea supporters are not entirely sold on the idea.

As you can see, some are in favour of a move for Zaha, while others are not so keen.
