Jared Zirkel, a class of 2020 kicker/punter committed to UGA today. Zirkel is from Kerrville, Texas and isn’t rated by 247sports, which only has three kickers in the class of 2020 rankings. Zirkel will look to replace current kicker Rodrigo Blankenship and continue Georgia’s history of excellent kickers.
Zirkel has a powerful leg according to KickingWorld and has hit an in game 59 yard field goal. Zirkel has the power to kick into the end zone on kick offs and may be able to punt as well.
The kicker joins a solid class of 2020 for the Dawgs that is rising up recruiting rankings. Zirkel announced his commitment today on Twitter:
