'Class act' Mick McCarthy turns Cardiff City into team 'nobody wants to play' — Bluebirds fans heap praise on manager after fourth win in a row

Cardiff City recorded their fourth win in a row with a 2-0 victory at Luton Town thanks to two wonder goals from Harry Wilson and Will Vaulks.

Liverpool loanee Wilson showed his class once again with a fantastic, curled finish from outside box in the 53rd minute despite hardly touching the ball beforehand.

Not to be outdone, Vaulks scored a beautifully controlled half volley just five minutes later which secured the win for the Bluebirds.

Luton dominated possession for much of the game, but City looked dangerous on the break and proved to be, registering seven shots on target from 10 shots overall.

This win takes the side to seventh in the Championship table, extending their undefeated run under Mick McCarthy to six games.

The Bluebirds have looked fantastic in all areas since the appointment of McCarthy in January and if such performances continue, they could be well on their way to securing a play-off spot.

Impressively, City have now registered 12 league away wins, second only to Manchester United in the English football league ladder who have 13.

The social media reaction to the Bluebirds’ win and great run has been overwhelmingly positive, with much of the praise being heaped on Mick McCarthy despite the initial scepticism to his hiring.

One user admitted that they were "sceptical" about his appointment at first but were glad to have
been proven wrong, while another labelled the boss a "class act".

Here's a flavour of what fans have had to say:

McCarthy has maintained that he will not be getting "carried away", though declaring there is still a long way to go in the season and much work still to be done.

He said: "I heard the TV saying 'keep their feet on the ground'. Well, if anybody knows me they will know I won't be getting my feet off the ground.

"Not unless they are getting a kick up the backside off me, then they will get their feet off the ground!"

Cardiff’s next game is on February 20 against 12th-placed Preston who have won only once in their last five.
