Class A drugs and a large quantity of cash have been found during a raid in a small Welsh town after police received a tip-off from members of the public.
The raid took place at a property in Tregaron in Ceredigion.
Police were acting on intelligence received from people who were concerned about the use of drugs in the area, and found class A and class B drugs inside the property.
A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address on the Maesamlwg Estate in Tregaron on the evening of Saturday, May 2.
“During the search a quantity of Class A and B drugs were located, as well as a large amount of cash. An investigation into the supply of controlled drugs has now been commenced.”
PC Samuel Garside said the force will continue to be proactive when they receive information from concerned residents.
“The execution of this warrant was possible due to information provided by members of the public, who were becoming increasingly concerned about drugs use in their community,” he said.
“I can reassure the public that robust action will be taken wherever possible to combat drug dealing, acting on information from members of the public by carrying out pro-active patrols, and executing warrants where necessary.”
Police have confirmed that, as of Wednesday morning, nobody has been arrested in connection with the drugs find, but added that anyone with information about drug use in their community can contact them on 101, or they can contact CrimeStoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
