Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper praised for preventing 'dangerous' accident after farm machinery spill

Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper has been praised for his quick thinking after stepping in to handle a “dangerous” roadside incident involving a fallen piece of farm machinery near Diddly Squat Farm.

The 26-year-old was pictured on the A3400 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, on Friday morning after a hedge cutter came loose from the back of a trailer.

The incident, which occurred around 9am, caused hydraulic fluid to spill across the road, leaving cars skidding through the slippery mess.

Witnesses said Cooper, who was en route to a baling job, quickly began making phone calls from his Mitsubishi L200 pickup, attempting to resolve the situation.

Onlooker Paul Lowe, 53, told The Sun: “I spotted him instantly and was a little bit starstruck as I’m a big fan of the show. The hedge cutter was on the back of a trailer pulled by a 4×4. I think it came round the corner and flew off.”

He added: “Hydraulic fluid was pumping out down the road and cars were skidding after driving through it. It was chaos and pretty dangerous. Kaleb was parked on the corner speaking with the driver and looked a bit worried.

“He probably had a lot of other jobs to get done and this only added to his hectic morning. It was just like watching the show live.”

Lowe said Cooper “acted quickly to avoid the spill causing a serious accident” and called in a colleague from his agricultural contracting business to help remove the cutter and limit disruption.

While Thames Valley Police have not issued a statement, they are understood to have been contacted to help make the road safe.

The near miss comes just days after the Prime Video star was seen using a mobility scooter after suffering a “busted ankle.”

Last week, the 26-year-old shared an update from A&E, confirming he had fractured his foot after taking a tumble.

The Prime Video star revealed his injury days before his appearance at the Royal Three Counties Show, but promised he would still be in attendance.

In a video, which was reshared to the event’s official Instagram, he said: “I may be hobbling around as I have fractured my ankle but I will still be at the Three Counties Show on Sunday.

“I've got my Kaleb Cooper contracting stand there, Hawkstone cider, as well as I'll be doing talks through out the day on the Sunday, so do pop along to say hello.

“I am looking forward to this one even though I maybe hobbling around I will be there.”

The Standard has contacted Kaleb Cooper’s representative for comment.
