Steve Clarke says Scotland will look to call up another goalkeeper for Monday's trip to Liechtenstein after a 3-1 defeat to Iceland on Friday evening.
It was a harrowing loss for the national team, who were beaten at Hampden for the second successive match.
Angus Gunn, who got the nod between the sticks, was forced off through injury six minutes in. He was replaced by Cieran Slicker, who could have done better for all three of Iceland's goals.
Slicker wasn't even number two to Gunn, however, with Robby McCrorie initially meant to be the back-up stopper. He was injured in the warm-up, though.
"It was disappointing," Clarke told BBC Radio Scotland post-match.
"The night didn't get off to a good start.
"It's difficult for Cieran. I feel for him, I really feel for him. He got thrown into a situation where perhaps he wasn't quite ready for it."
Clarke was asked about Gunn's condition following his withdrawal: "I don't know," he said.
"If you get injured in the first couple of minutes and then come off, I'd imagine he's not going to play the next game."
Clarke then revealed that 18-year-old Callan McKenna, who joined Bournemouth from Queen's Park last February, will travel with the team to Liechtenstein after training in the lead up to the Iceland clash.
The national team boss was initially asked if he plans to draft in a new keeper: "Yeah, for sure," he answered.
"I've had young Callan McKenna with us.
"Callan will travel, and hopefully we'll find another [keeper] somewhere in Scotland who's not on holiday."
Scotland face Liechtenstein on Monday at 5pm.
