Portsmouth are ready to battle Aberdeen for the signature of Clark Robertson.
The English League One side have now declared their interest in the soon to be out-of-contract Rotherham star.
Aberdeen have already made an offer to bring the 27-year-old back to Pittodrie.
Robertson has already travelled north for talks with Dons boss Stephen Glass.
The left-sided defender has also been offered a new deal at Rotherham.
Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley has also come to the table and is keen to land him.
Pompey are set to make an offer because they want to bring in Robertson for their promotion push back to the Championship.
Aberdeen have already agreed a deal to bring in Declan Gallagher on a pre-contract from Motherwell and Mikey Devlin has also been handed a short-term deal to prove his fitness.
Glass has also lined up Celtic captain Scott Brown and Jay Emmanuel Thomas from Livingston.
He is also keen on St Mirren’s Jamie McGrath and Hibs midfielder Jackson Irvine, but he is likely to stay put at Easter Road or move abroad.
The Dons also have interest from Watford in Lewis Ferguson and from Sunderland in Ross McCrorie.
