Following the death of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II, the fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall has been rescheduled out of respect to recent events.
The fight was due to take place at the O2 Arena on Satuday night, but has been rescheduled provisionally for October 15 following the news of the passing of the monarch's passing at her Balmoral estate on Thursday. The delay is in line with the postponement of this weekend's Premier League fixtures.
The fight was to determine who would become the undisputed middleweight champion, with Shields placing her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBF, and The Ring female titles on the line up against Marshall's WBO crown. However, the pair will have to wait to go face to face following recent events.

The postponement was confirmed by an official statement released on Friday, which read: "As a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the British Boxing Board of Control has made the decision to postpone Saturday's event, BOXXER: Legacy - Shields vs Marshall,".
"Our sincere thoughts are with His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family during this profoundly sombre time." it added. "We are working with all parties to provisionally reschedule for Saturday, 15th October, at The O2 in London.".
The press conference had taken place as normal on Thursday, but following news yesterday evening of the passing of The Queen it was announced that the weigh-in would be held behind closed doors today as a non-media event but it has now fallen in line with the Premier League as well as the British Boxing Board of Control's directive to cancel all events taking place on Friday.
