Claressa Shields sends 'kiss my ass' message over Katie Taylor debate

Claressa Shields has told anyone who didn't have her top of their 2022 pound-for-pound lists to 'kiss her ass'.

The American boxer and Katie Taylor have long battled it out for the title of P4P number one female fighter and GWOAT.

Shields enjoyed another incredibly successful year in 2022, beating Ema Kozin in February before getting the better of Savannah Marshall to become undisputed at middleweight in October.

Meanwhile, Taylor put in the performance of her career to beat Amanada Serrano at Madison Square Garden in April before beating Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in London in October.

Both fighters picked up numerous awards at the end of 2022, but Shields clearly feels she is the outright P4P best.

She posted on Instagram: "If I wasn’t number 1 on your P4P list 2022, kiss my ass. RESPECTFULLY! #GWOAT."

Shields previously paid tribute to Taylor over the festive period as she discussed awards.

She wrote: "No award for best trash talk. Hell @MikaelaMayer1 & @alyciambaum definitely won in that. Most entertaining build up I’ve ever been able to witness.

"We also need an award for the least trash talk,! Winner @KatieTaylor. She don’t say nothing! She just go out there perform and win! She don’t respond to nobody remarks! I like that about her."
